Hot Deformation Behaviors of as Cast 321 Austenitic Stainless Steel

AISI 321 stainless steel has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and is generally used in nuclear power reactor vessels other components. The as-cast wrought structures are quite different hot workability, so physical simulation, electron back-scatter diffraction, processing maps were study the mechanical behavior microstructure evolution of grade temperature range 900–1200 °C strain rate 0.01–10 s?1. results showed that flow curve presented work-hardening characteristics. activation energy was calculated as 478 kJ/mol. fraction dynamic recrystallization (DRX) increased with increasing deformation decreasing rate. DRX grain size decreased Z value. Combining working map state map, suggested window 1000–1200 0.01–0.1 main form instability necklace DRX. nucleation mechanism migration subgrains. ? phase reduced promoted tested steel.
